The Restoration of N9271U The time has finally come to restore 71U. She has served me well over the last 35 years. She is still a fairly young bird with only 3100 hours TT. We found a crack in the engine case and just pushed her aside meaning to get back to her and never did. Well the time has come to get her back in the sky The Engine time SMOH is only 400 hours. The case has already gone off to DivCo in Tulsa to be welded. All components of the lower end looked really good. The cylinders will be looked at and cleaned. All other components will be inspected and installed. She already had has new back windows and new carpet installed. Also the new style Horner wing tips have been installed. The new plastic came in a few days ago. 71U will receive all new plastic interior. New seat belts. New windows with side glass. New leather seat covers. All new radios. New LED lights Thinking about digital engine gauges. Right now she looks to be in rough shape after years of storage...

955 Update 12/18/2017

Well 955 is finally getting close to getting out of the paint shop. It takes time and patience to get a plane painted. I would rather them take their time and do it right. From the pics everything looks good so far. There are a few mistakes and the painter is going to remedy them ASAP. The horizontal stabilizers and the elevators are supposed to be solid green. There are also supposed to be strips on the wingtips. Also the new seat are going in. We should pick her up this week. Then she is off to the avionics shop to get her IFR transponder re-certified. Who ever heard of a C-150 that can shoot a ILS?

955 Update

As you can see in the photos 955 is finally being stripped of all paint. All flight controls have been removed. This is the proper way to have an aircraft painted. Once painted they will be reinstalled on the aircraft and signed off by an A&P mechanic.

The Restoration of N10955

Well after 5 long years it is finally time to get N10955 up and flying again. For those of you who don't remember,  955 is a 1974 Cessna 150L. I bought her for a good price but she needed a lot of work. The work done so far is: O-200A Engine Major Overhaul. (The Correct Way) All New Wiring  New Carpet  All New Plastic Interior New Seat Coverings Panel Mount Garmin Area 500  King KX155 Nav/Com New Tires Tubes and Brakes. All New Fiberglass Fairings. Nose Strut Rebuilt All LED Lights All New Glass Finally, 955 is receiving a new paint job. I have always liked the 1976 paint scheme, so I decided to paint 955 in that paint scheme (or at least 90% of her). There will be a few deviations to it. Primary Base coat will be Snow White and Secondary is a Hunter Green.  955 Just arrived in Devine,Texas. Her transformation is about to begin. More info to come....
